Cariboo Metal Recycling is a full-service scrap metal recycling facility located in Quesnel, BC. They are a drop-off for the Encorp Return-It program and can recycle a wide variety of computer and electronics products. They offer Scrap Metal Pick-Up Service.

While you’re more than welcome to take your scrap metal to their recycling center, that’s not always convenient or even possible. They are able to pick up scrap at your site either through their bin service or with the equipment required to meet your needs.

Cariboo Metal Recycling offers:

Electronics Recycling

This is a service they provide working with ENCORP and it’s free of charge. It is for electronics that you have paid an environmental levy on at purchase. Products such as computers, printers, monitors, TVs, phones, stereos, etc. are accepted.

Small Appliance Recycling

ElectroRecycle is the first small appliance and power tool recycling program of its kind in Canada and the only government-approved electrical products recycling program in B.C.  ElectroRecycle accepts more than 300 electrical products ranging in size from electric toothbrushes, countertop microwave ovens, and hand-held drills to treadmills.

Call 2 Recycle Program

Founded in 1994, Call2Recycle—North America’s first and largest battery stewardship program—is a non-profit organization that collects and recycles batteries at no cost for municipalities, businesses, and consumers.

Alarm Recycling

AlarmRecycle is a recycling program for used or expired smoke and carbon monoxide (CO) alarms. Since October 1, 2011, BC residents have been able to drop off their smoke and CO alarms for recycling at AlarmRecycle drop-off locations across BC.

Outdoor Power Equipment Recycling

OPEIC is the only government-approved outdoor power equipment recycling program in B.C. As of July 1, 2012, British Columbians are able to recycle products ranging from chain saws, garden sprayers, and lawn mowers to pressure washers, mulchers, and wood chippers.

Thermostat Recycling

Switch the ‘Stat is a stewardship program focused on recovering and recycling thermostats that are no longer in use. They accept mercury-containing, electronic and mechanical thermostats and ensure that all the components, especially the mercury, are kept out of the waste stream.

Light Recycling

The expanded LightRecycle covers lights (bulbs and tubes), ballasts, and lighting fixtures. All types of lights are accepted under both channels, including fluorescent tubes, compact fluorescent lights (CFLs), halogen and incandescent bulbs, light emitting diodes (LEDs), and high-intensity discharge lamps (HID).
